Old Pictures

I downloaded my camera the other day to download the new pictures of Petra, and discovered all these gems I had failed to upload. So, here's a little smattering of some great pictures.

A couple months ago we went to Sea World and Carmen got to meet one of her favs, Elmo:

Last weekend of summer

Sadly, I had to work a lot this holiday weekend. But, I still managed to spend some QT with the fam. And sadly, the stress of work has not induced an early labor. So, we still wait on that. Shay, Carmen and I managed to go to a park to day and play and run and hang out. There are several parks that overlook the ocean on the Palos Verdes pennisula, so we decided to go to one of those parks. It was so nice and cool as it has been really hot for the last couple weeks. It was a lot of fun. Carmen played on the playground while we chased her around. I managed to get some fun pictures of the day.









This little boy just grabbed her hand. The little boys like Carmen. I think we're going to have to ground her for her teen years. But the boy was cute and i loved that he was wearing a Ramones shirt and he had the cutest little afro.



Below are some pictures we took of us. I probably need to have my sister do a family shot of all three of us as it will probably be the last of just the three of us. sad and happy. i can not wait for the arrival of Petra, but it is





In other happenings, we decided to stop letting Carmen watch Princess movies for a little while. We had Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid in constant rotation. This weekend Carmen informed Janna that, "She could not wait to get her crown." And we also caught her kissing her reflection romantically in the mirror and really admiring herself. No more princess movies for a while. We're now onto Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland.

Oh my!

After I made my last post, I saw the number of days left on my baby counter...and freaked a little. I can NOT believe how fast this pregnancy has gone. Although I am extremely excited for the new baby to get here...I'm also nervous about how everyone (ahem, carmen) will adjust. But most of all, I'm really looking forward to not being pregnant! (just kidding I'm mostly excited for her to get here. however, it will be nice to not be pregnant any more ;)

Swingin'

Why is it that swingin' on swings is one of the funnest things to do when you are a kid. Well, Carmen is no different. Everyday when we pick her up from school, she races to the swings and makes us push her for a little while before we go home. One time, she even cried, because Shay didn't push her high enough. Here is a video Shay took today while she was swingin'.

Sneak Peek!

Today we went to get a 3-D ultrasound to get pictures and a dvd of the new baby. We did it for Carmen, so we figured we should do it for this little sweetie. She kind of looks like Carmen, but she looks a little different too. I think she has more of Shay's nose, but I guess we'll know for sure once she gets here. And this baby is quite the mover and shaker. 2 weeks ago when we went to the Dr, she was all in position. Today, she's laying transverse across my belly. Hopefully, she'll move back into place before her grand entrance.







Her eyes are open in this one and she clearly looks annoyed that we are trying to get pictures of her.

Let's Rock-N-Roll!

Last night, Carmen wanted to play with her yo-gabba gabba guitar. But, it was getting late, so we told her we couldn't get it out. We then encouraged her to just go and strum daddy's guitar since he already had it out. This made her happy. She then screamed out, "LET'S ROCK AND ROLL!" grabed her recorder and proceeds to rock. It was so cute, we had to get it on video. So, the below video is a little coherst, but she fell for it and it ROCKS! My child is a rocker and that makes both Shay and I very happy. I just caught it on my MacBook video camera so, it isn't the best quality and thus i had to apply an effect to make it as cool as it could be, since she totally took down the house. Enjoy.
